What's your favorite brand of ice cream? Baskin-Robbins? Haagen Dazs? Ben & Jerry's? Talenti Gelato? Whichever one you choose, they all have something in common. They all were created by Jewish entrepreneurs.
Jews have pioneered the premium ice cream craze for 40 years, from Haagen Dazs to Ben & Jerry's and beyond. Irv Robbins, Burt Baskin, Reuben and Rose Mattus, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, and Josh Hochshuler all were pioneers in development of these delicious treats.
Their stories were told in an article in The Tablet by Joan Nathan in 2012.
Enjoy!
