Boys Town Jerusalem Choir Sings "Am Yisrael Chai"

The entire Boys Town Jerusalem choir came together in April to sing Eyal Golan's Am Yisrael Chai song. In this video you can also see the incredible things Boys Town Jerusalem students have done during the war, from collecting food for soldiers, volunteering in a preschool, to working in Israel's fields in the South.

Boys Town Jerusalem is one of Israel's premier institutions for educating the country's next generation of leaders in the fields of technology, commerce, education, the military and public service.

Since its founding in 1948, BTJ has pursued its mission of turning young boys from limited backgrounds into young men with limitless futures. From Junior High through the College level, the three part curriculum at Boys Town - academic, technological and Torah - is designed to turn otherwise disadvantaged Israeli youth into productive citizens of tomorrow.

Boys Town’s 18 acre campus is a home away from home for its more than 950 students. More than 7,500 graduates hold key positions throughout Israeli society.

Here Come the Chanukah Videos: Boys Town Jerusalem Choir with Sevivon and Dreidel Song

The Dreidel Song has been taken to a new level with this new jazzed up rendition by the Boys Town Jerusalem choir. The Dreidel song or in Hebrew Sevivon Sov Sov Sov has been given a new modern spin.

Hanukkah - the festival of lights - is enjoyed by thousands of Jewish families around the world, many who play the Dreidel game and sing the Dreidel song after lighting the Hanukkah candles.

Established in 1948 to provide a home and education for young immigrants to the newly-created State of Israel, Boys Town Jerusalem has become one of the country's largest and most respected educational institutions.

Boys Town was founded by Alexander S. Linchner, a Brooklyn-born rabbi who, after the Holocaust, devoted his life to building a school for the children of immigrants who poured into Israel from countries around the world. His goal: providing them with a quality education that would prepare them to build the State of Israel with technological skill and traditional Jewish idealism.

Today, the beautiful 18-acre Boys Town campus in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem is one of Israel’s major technological training centers. Approximately 800 students, ranging in age from 12 to 20, live on the campus, with a capacity to house up to 1,000.

The children and grandchildren of immigrants from 45 countries on six continents, they mirror the ethnic diversity of the Israeli population. More than 75% come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and require substantial scholarship assistance. No student is ever turned away from Boys Town due to inability to pay tuition.

In addition to receiving a fine technological and academic education, Boys Town students are deeply imbued with traditional Jewish values and ideals, and pride in their Jewish heritage. As a result, Boys Town graduates are proud to serve in the Israel Defense Forces and then go on to build fine Jewish homes and families, while making important contributions to their communities and the State of Israel. Among Boys Town’s more than 6,200 graduates are many engineers, technicians, educators, fine craftsmen and professionals.

Welcoming Shabbat (and Getting Ready for Rosh Hashana) with Adon Olam by the Boys Town Jerusalem Singers

As we were searching for a musical video to help us welcome Shabbat this week, we took a closer look at the calendar and realized that Rosh Hashana is only 12 days away.

We found another new version of Adon Olam that not only gets us in the mood for Shabbat but also serves as the first in a series of Rosh Hashana music videos that we will post as soon as they come in.

This Adon Olam is sung by the Boys Town Jerusalem choir on their Jerusalem campus. Over the years we've been posting their music videos for Pesach, Rosh Hashana, Sukkot, and Chanukah.

Boys Town Jerusalem is a high school in Jerusalem, Israel which has over 900 boys from grades 7 to grade 12 and a 2 year post high school engineering program. Once the boys graduate they continue on to enlist in the IDF ( Israel Defense Forces)

More than 75% of the boys come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and require substantial scholarship assistance. No student is ever turned away from Boys Town Jerusalem due to inability to pay tuition.

We hope you enjoy their vocal and musical talents. Shabbat shalom!

Boys Town Jerusalem Welcomes Sukkot with Song

When the holiday videos start to arrive, we're sure that the boys of Boys Town Jerusalem are busy singing and creating their musical contribution to the yom tov spirit. We have posted their videos for Passover, Rosh Hashana, and Chanukah.

This year Boys Town Jerusalem has put together a special Sukkot Song - Vesamachta Bechagecha (Be happy on your holidays).

On this holiday we leave the comfort and security of our homes and go into the sukkah, showing our faith in God for protection and sustenance.

In Jerusalem this week, we see the sukkot going up on every street and on the sidewalks next to the restaurants that are constructing them for the convenience of their customers.

Established in 1948, Boys Town Jerusalem has become one of the country's largest and most respected educational institutions since its establishment in 1948 to provide a home and education for young immigrants to the newly-created State of Israel.

We hope you enjoy the video. We'll be in shul tomorrow for the first day of Sukkot in Jerusalem and we'll be back with more Jewish humor on Wednesday.

Passover Videos: Boys Town Jerusalem Choir Sings Chad Gadya at Jerusalem Parks

Every year the boys of Boys Town Jerusalem produce a music video for Passover. This year they went on location at two Jerusalem parks, Ein Yael and the new Emek Hatzvaim in central Jerusalem.

Getting close to nature, the boys were able to include some of the wildlife represented in the Haggadah, both live animals and statues, to act out the verses of Chad Gadya, the traditional last song in the Haggadah.

A New Chanukah Video From Boys Town Jerusalem - Mi Yemalel in Hebrew and English

With the approach of every Jewish holiday, we eagerly anticipate a new crop of music videos created just for the occasion. We have a few favorites who come through just about every year with a high quality musical production.

Just like the Maccabeats from Yeshiva University, whose latest song we posted on Friday, the Boys Town Jerusalem Choir can be counted on to enrich our holiday observance with an uplifting musical number.

This Chanukah, the Boys Town Jerusalem Choir takes the familiar Mi Yemalel and renders it in English as well as in Hebrew, at the Israel Armed Corps Memorial Site - Yad Lashiriyon Memorial at Latrun.

Established in 1948 to provide a home and education for young immigrants to the newly-created State of Israel, Boys Town Jerusalem has become one of the country's largest and most respected educational institutions.
