A Joke to Start the Week - "Praying in Jerusalem"

It's the first Monday in May and we're on another one of our Israel trips. This is a special one because we're here to celebrate a grandson's Bar Mitzvah. The family is gathering here for the big simcha but that's not preventing us from posting a joke to start the week.

We're very glad that one of our favorite jokesters, retired business woman and sculptor Joyce Fama, sent us a very timely joke about praying in Jerusalem that we're sharing with you today.

Here's the setup: An American journalist has an assignment in Jerusalem. He's living in a hotel with a window that's looks over the Western Wall. And he notices an older man there three times a day praying vigorously and he thinks that this might be a story. And then...

Enjoy!

Happy Monday to all of our readers. It's time for another Joke to Start the Week.

We're always glad to receive a new old joke from Joyce Fama, the retired business woman, sculptor, and jokester who has become a regular on Jewish Humor Central.

Here's the setup for today's joke: A minister, a priest, and a rabbi die in a car crash. They all go to heaven. And when they're in heaven they're interrogated. And then...

Enjoy!

A Joke to Start the Week - "A Poisonous Situation"

It's another Monday. Time to get back to work, time for another Joke to Start the Week and time to start the day with a laugh. Today Joyce Fama is joining us again with a joke about a rabbi helping out a congregant.

When she's not telling jokes, Joyce is an award winning Connecticut sculptor. Her medium is fired clay  that is inished with custom patinas. Here's the setup for today's joke: A husband goes to his rabbi. He says "Rabbi, I'm so distraught. My wife is trying to poison me."  And then...

Enjoy!

It's another Monday. Time to get back to work, time for another Joke to Start the Week and time to start the day with a laugh. Today Joyce Fama is joining us again with a joke about a synagogue's gift to their rabbi.

A Joke to Start the Week - "Canine Career Choice"

It's the Monday before Yom Kippur and we were looking for a joke that takes place during the High Holidays when along comes an email from our latest joke teller, Joyce Fama.

When she's not telling jokes, Joyce is an award winning Connecticut sculptor. Her medium is fired clay that is finished with custom patinas.

Tomorrow is Yom Kippur eve, so we'll get a bit more serious with tomorrow's post, but every Monday is joke day at Jewish Humor Central unless one of the major Jewish holidays falls on Monday. That's what will happen for the next two weeks, with both Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret falling on Monday.

We'll be observing Yom Kippur tomorrow in Jerusalem, and we'll be back Thursday with our usual mix.

Wishing all our readers and viewers a G'mar Chatima Tova.

Here's the setup for today's joke: In a synagogue during the High Holidays, the congregants are all there. One of them walks in with his dog, and then...

Enjoy!
