Here Come the Hanukkah Videos: Funky Blessings by David Ross and Shir Soul

Shir Soul is a wedding band and a cappella singing group founded in 2005 by David Ross.

With their eclectic mix of Jewish rock, pop, and soul music, Shir Soul has recorded a few albums and plays at weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, and other occasions with musical instruments or a cappella.

In previous years we've posted some of their Chanukah mashups, including a collection of songs by Elvis Presley. This year they created a funky version of the candle lighting blessings.

Singing all the voice parts from Bass to Tenor and even the Lead vocal and Beat-box, David Ross travels seamlessly through 11 completely different genres of music in just 90 seconds to create a uniquely "funky" arrangement like nothing else you've ever seen or heard!

And if you're not already familiar with the candle-lighting blessings for Chanukah, you can definitely use this video as a great way to learn the classic tune with your family and friends and have fun as you learn!

An Elvis Hanukkah with Shir Soul a Cappella and Key Tov's Elliot Dvorin

Hanukkah is the time of year when all the a cappella and musical groups come out with their annual music videos. It's a special treat when two groups come together to produce an ensemble video.

That's what we're getting this year with Elliot Dvorin, the lead singer of the Key Tov Orchestra joining in with Shir Soul to give us an Elvis Hanukkah.
