It's been a long time since we posted a "priest, minister, and rabbi" joke. So when we came across this one by Dr. Jay Orlikoff, we couldn't resist sharing it with you even though we may have posted a variation years ago with a barber instead of a dentist.

Jay Orlikoff is a retired dentist from Centereach, New York, a community on Long Island in Suffolk County.

After a distinguished and meritorious dental career, he is shifting his focus to telling and posting jokes on YouTube. We were fortunate to find some of his jokes and we're sharing one of the family-friendly ones with you today. 

Here's the setup: A priest comes into a dental office and the dentist asks him what the problem is. The priest tells him that he has a toothache. And then...

A Joke to Start the Week - "The Haircut"

It's another Monday, and time for another Joke to Start the week. Here's another one from author and lecturer Michael Krasny.

Krasny has been telling Jewish jokes since his bar mitzvah, and it’s been said that he knows more of them than anyone on the planet. He certainly states his case in his latest book Let There be Laughter.

In promoting the book, Krasny has been giving lectures and interviews in which he tells some of the classic Jewish jokes, explaining the cultural expressions and anxieties behind the laughs.

We found some videos of these lectures, and today we're sharing another oldie but goodie.

Here's the setup: A barber opens a new barber shop and he's got a spiffy new barber pole. A priest comes in, and he gives the priest a haircut. And then...

Midweek Joke Bonus: "Did You Hear the One About...?" Five Priest and Rabbi Jokes in Five Minutes

"A priest and a rabbi walk into a bar" or a car or just about anyplace else. That's the way a whole genre of jokes begins. Most of them are old and you've probably heard most of them. But they can still bring a laugh.

Some of our readers have been asking for more jokes in addition to our Monday "Joke to Start the Week" feature. So here we go with a midweek joke...actually a series of five of them.
 
Actors Ron Rogge and Warren Davis unleash a barrage of Priest and Rabbi jokes in various settings, at home, in a pool, and finally at the wedding that they've been looking forward to all week. 

The film was produced as an entry in the 48 Hour Film Project, an annual team competition to write, produce, and edit a short video from 7 pm Friday to 7 pm Sunday.
