Elliot Dvorin and the Key Tov Orchestra are at it again.

Today we're sharing a performance of the Key Tov Orchestra playing a medley of Shabbat songs:

Bim Bam (Instrumental)
Shabbat Shalom (Hey!)
Shalom Aleichem by Israel Goldfarb
Shalom Aleichem by Rabbi Shmuel Brazil
Regesh V'Shamru by Reb Shlomo Carlebach
Lecha Dodi Shabbos Kodesh by Moshav Band
Harachaman Hu Yanchilenu

Enjoy!

Welcoming Shabbat with a Bluegrass Version of Lecha Dodi

Written by 16th Century Kabbalist Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz, Lecha Dodi is a classic erev Shabbat text that has been put to many tunes. This Shabbat, we bring you Lecha Dodi to the melody of a Bluegrass standard, Old Home Place.

It's performed by Kol Kaḥol, a virtuosic Jewish Bluegrass band that brings a warm, welcoming, and uplifting musical experience to the Kabbalat Shabbat service.

The combination of banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and bass, together with vocals by Ariel Wyner and Sofia Chiarandini creates a version of Lecha Dodi that we haven't heard in shul (or anywhere else).

Enjoy, and Shabbat shalom!

Welcoming Shabbat with Adon Olam by Yossi Azulay

Yossi Azulay is best known for his songs such as El Ha'or and Heya Heya. He is well known in Israel for collaborations with Shlomi Shabbat, Rita, and Moshe Datz, as well as for his solo career.

He was awarded second place in the 2004 Eurovision Contest for his song, Don't Worry Baby.

Yossi did his military service in an IDF performing troupe. Since completing his service he pursued a career in music. Besides multiple appearances on television as a soloist he has recorded with Shlomi Shabbat - their duet of the song Ima reached the top of the popularity charts.

In 2016 Yossi performed in a concert in Paris to benefit an Israeli children's organization. This rendition of Adon Olam (the 41st one that we've posted on Jewish Humor Central) is from that Paris concert.

Welcoming Shabbat with The Maccabeats and Shlock Rock Singing Shir Hamaalot, Billy Joel Style

Capping a month of postings with a Jerusalem theme, we're getting ready to welcome Shabbat with a unique collaboration of two a cappella groups, The Maccabeats and Shlock Rock.

To commemorate Jerusalem Day, they teamed up to sing the psalm that is usually sung to star the Birkat Hamazon (Grace after meals), Shir Hamaalot (Song of Ascents). This version is based on Billy Joel's hit song The Longest Time.

Enjoy and Shabbat shalom!

Lyrics

Enjoy, and Shabbat shalom!
