confronted with unusual situations, sometimes involving trick props,
such as a desk with drawers that pop open when one is closed or a car
with a hidden extra gas tank. When the joke was revealed, victims would
be told the show's catchphrase, "Smile, you're on Candid Camera."
Peter Funt joined the show professionally in 1987 when he became a co-host with his father. During this time the show was being broadcast on the CBS television network. In 1993, Allen Funt had a serious stroke, from which he never fully recovered. This required Peter to host the show full-time.
The show went through a few revivals. During his time on the show Peter was a producer, host and acted on the show. He also produced and hosted over 200 episodes.

With only a half hour for dinner, they start to order hamburgers and soda pop, but the waiter keeps insisting that they order chateaubriand, duck a l'orange, or pheasant under glass, with an appropriately paired wine.
When the waiter (a young Sid Caesar) brings the order into the kitchen, the French chef is insulted by the order and takes it out on Caesar. It's a very funny bit of sketch comedy.

In this video, Dudley Moore, Val Doonican, and Peter Cook collaborate in a spoof of Hava Nagila in which Nagila is a little Japanese sports car that's being sold by a British car dealer. Sure, it's silly, and so is the rest of the comedy sketch. But it was funny enough to air in 1972.

This week's sketch is a tribute on Caesar's centenary. The comedian was born 100 years ago on September 8, 1922.
No date is available for this sketch, which has only been released on very rare out of print VHS/Betamax tapes. We're grateful to a Sid Caesar super fan who found these tapes, had them transferred digitally, and shared them with a poster who made them available on YouTube.
The seven-day official visit to three Chinese cities was the first time a U.S. president had visited China. Nixon's arrival in Beijing ended 25 years of no communication or diplomatic ties between the two countries and was the key step in normalizing relations between the U.S. and China.
The China visit gave an opportunity to the comedy team of Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara to perform a skit on The Carol Burnett Show. Stiller and Meara played the roles of Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai and his wife reviewing the trip and their impressions of the Nixons. Hilarious!

was born as Borge Rosenbaum to a Jewish family in Copenhagen. His
parents were both musicians. He began piano lessons at the age of two,
and it
was soon apparent that he was a prodigy.
Much
of his comedy has been preserved in his concerts and TV specials that
are available on DVD, VHS, and now on streaming media. We laughed our
way through many of the video clips available on YouTube before settling
on this one to share today. In it Borge explains the role of the conductor and introduces each of the instruments of the orchestra in his unique hilarious way.

Robert Merrill (born Moishe Miller in Williamsburg, Brooklyn) was an American operatic baritone and actor, who was also active in the musical theatre circuit. He received the National Medal of Arts in 1993.Victor Borge (born Borge Rosenbaum in Copenhagen, Denmark) was a Danish-American comedian, conductor, and pianist who achieved great popularity in radio and television.
So what did these musically talented and successful Jewish boys do when they got together? Comedy shtick, of course. In this undated video clip, Borge plays the introduction, Merrill starts to sing, and then the leaves begin to fall. Borge carries on while Merrill keeps a straight face. Hilarious.
