A Joke to Start the Week - "The Centerpiece"

Have you ever been to a wedding or a Bar Mitzvah reception where the centerpiece on each table is given to a lucky guest who finds a note under their plate? Well, you'll find today's joke by stand-up comedian Shaun Eli Breidbart very relevant.

Shaun is just back from touring in South Africa, where he performed at all three comedy clubs on the entire African continent. He's also the Executive Director of The Ivy League of Comedy which performs at theatres and at corporate and charity events including for synagogues and other Jewish organizations. For almost two decades he was a freelance contributor to the opening monologues of three late-night talk show hosts.

A Joke to Start the Week - "The iPhone Joke"

We're glad to be back on this Monday with our most popular feature, the Joke to Start the Week. We haven't posted a joke to start the week for the last few weeks because of Passover, Holocaust Remembrance Day, and Israel's Memorial Day.

But now we're back with a portfolio of jokes that we'll be posting every Monday. Today we're restarting with stand-up comedian Shaun Eli, who has been called one of America’s smartest comics. Whether it’s a story about dining with a vegetarian or successfully fighting a parking ticket, master storyteller Shaun Eli has shown that there’s hilarity in the ordinary if you approach life with a comedic warp.

Shaun is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. You can watch his videos and read some of his writings, including satirical political essays and hundreds of jokes he’s written for late-night television, on his web site BrainChampagne.com.
