Comedian Rabbi Bob Alper on How Jokes Travel Around the World

We've been following the comedy career of Rabbi Bob Alper over the last five years, and we've posted seven video clips of him delivering stand-up performances on his own and in collaboration with comedians of different religious persuasions.

The funny reform rabbi has released a DVD of his performances and graciously gave us permission to share some of the material with you.

Alper is a keen observer of the way humor travels from place to place and how what looks like a new joke can be an old joke that traveled from one country to another, picking up local nuances along the way.

In today's video clip, he tells an American Jewish joke and explains how it originated years earlier in Europe.

Enjoy!
