Aliyanicks Anonymous - New Israeli Immigrants Try Group Therapy

Hahafuch is Israel's premiere English-speaking comedy troupe, based in Jerusalem. We've shared some of their funny routines on Jewish Humor Central, including the Real Housewives of Jerusalem and the Bibi Netanyahu speech translated by a sub-par Ulpan graduate.

Today we're bringing you one of their most popular sketches, Aliyaniks Anonymous, in which six recent immigrants to Israel share their frustrations with the bureaucracies dealing with new olim, the process of learning to navigate daily life in a new country and speaking a new language.

Some frustrations expressed: Paying housing tax, dealing with a strike, banking hours, paying the phone bill, customer service in stores and on the phone. The session includes group recitations and plans for returning for the next weekly session to get mutual support from the group.  Enjoy!
